#7. Mr. Bunny’s Moon Cake Factory

This drawing is about bunnies who live on the moon. Every year in September, they would make moon cakes and have a moon cake party. If you were to design a small factory machine, what shape would it be? What items come out of the machine? What animals are your workers? And what type of packages do you need?

This is a really fun drawing that shows a simple factory production line. The creativities are endless!

Follow my steps to draw a factory production drawing!

You will need these materials:

  • color pencils / pencils / erasers
  • White Multi-media paper (9 x 12 inches)

#1.    Let’s start with a MACHINE.

Near the center of the paper, draw an oval shape. Then draw two equal straight lines going up and down at the left and right edges. Then close up the bottom of the machine with a half oval like a smile. Draw a rectangular hole at the side of the machine. Do not draw details for the machine yet. We will do that after the bunny is done.

From the center of the rectangular hole, draw two parallel lines for the production line. If you want the production to go towards the middle of the drawing, make the parallel lines narrow in the back. The production line should be wider towards the viewer and narrow as it goes further away from the viewer. At last, draw legs at the bottom of the production line. Make sure the legs do not look like capitulars in different directions. All the legs should go down like raindrops.

Draw items on the production lines. Draw circles or boxes if you do not have an idea on what to draw. The items should be smaller further away from you.

#2.    BOSS.

In my drawing, Mr. Bunny stands on the machine. He is the boss giving orders to workers. Erase the top half of the machine and draw your boss character. Maybe it is a tiny animal giving orders speaking through a megaphone. The workers might be big animals. You can just draw rabbits if you run out of ideas for your character.

#3.    PLANETS

In the sky, I have a tree branch with some leaves. Mr. Bunny is holding a string that is tied to a sun. It looks like a disco ball shining light for the workers. We assume there is no light sources on the moon. On the left corner of the sky, I have Earth, Mar, and Saturn. You can draw any other planets you like or even make up your own planet. Overlap different color pencil for beautiful effects.

#4.    WORKERS

You can draw rabbits with round palms managing items on the production line. I have a worker rolling words on the moon cake while another worker packages the cake.

#5.    BACKGROUNDS

You can draw more common objects in the background. I have some trees, a house, lots of boxes, a party table full of food, and lunar craters. Lunar craters are the holes that looks like flat volcanos. Lastly, I added some blue spikey crosses in the sky to suggest stars.

I hope you like this drawing! What does your factory look like? I love to see your creativities! Do not forget to print out the reference for your drawing.
